Operation Americana

This is no hollywood science flick where a hero and his girl - who initially mistrusts him finally realises that humans would go the way of the dinosaur - joins hands and lips to kill the aliens.

This happened in my backyard and if you must know..yes I have a backyard - A small one but nevertheless a backyard.

Sometime in the Recent Past...
Time 2019 Hrs:
Operative "me" makes a sudden entry into the de-miliarised zone. Supported by an overhead lamp to check the status of some wet clothes hanging outside - a punishment for getting dirty, the operative sees an enemy agent reconnaissing the area and probably even planting some land mines for good measure.

The Operative follows standard procedure as he has been trained to do at the military academy and immediately informs battle HQ and awaits backup.
HQ is short of resources. Majority of the army is.. well not there. They have no choice but to send their No. 1 commando Agent HIT supported by Agent codename LR.
Operative conveys enemy movements and location in a series of brief nods and grunts. Agent HIT surveys the landscape with his night vision thermal sensing binoculars . Enemy agents seem to be quite a few and well hidden. An attack could cause them to spread out and wreck havoc even entering the unprotected homeland.
But Agent Hit is the country's best commando for nothing. Sending Agent LR to secure the border. Agent Hit moves cautiously into the de-militarised zone. He is now all alone. His finger rests on the trigger, his mind sharp, his eyes aleart to the sign of enemy movement. He follows his instincts and his instincts have never let him down - even during one of his earlier operations where his appendix was removed.
The enemy is still unaware of Agent HIT's presence (the country's top commando right!). Agent HIT comes close. He makes a quick calculation - the size of the hideout and enemy movements his only indicators. Such calculations come easy to him having cracked the CAT, XAT, MAT, DAT, FAT etc in his younger days. Not many enemy agents says his calculations. Must be an advance scout team!
He decides he can take them all out. Aiming quickly he fires two quick bursts. 2 enemy agents fall. Others come out. Agent Hit's calculations are correct. Only a few are there. He picks out the others at will. They fall without knowing what hit them.

Silence!

Agent Hit blends with the night. Becomes invisible and waits.

One of them moves. Goes still again. Agent HIT doesn't fall for the bait.
He waits.
Another enemy agent stirs. Hearing and seeing nothing, they both in a sense of false security move into the open and attempt communication with enemy headquarters. Thats the last thing they do. They never knew what hit them.
But you and me know that it was Agent Hit that hit them. Thus with the enemy base destroyed. Agent Hit returns victorioulsy for yet another adventure on his majesty's service.
2 Days Later...
Agent LR and Agent Hit are seen kissing in a remote beach somewhere on the planet Pluto.
